The focus of the company is to explore the limitless world of sound. We provide original
music and sound design for all media, including radio and
television advertising. Waveform can also provide you with original scoring
services for film and documentaries as well as servicing all your audio post production needs, from voice-over recording to mixing television series and commercials. Working creatively to all types of briefs and to tight deadlines is second nature here, and we deliver on time, every time.
Audio We
have 24-bit digital multitrack recording and editing facilities
using the latest Digidesign Protools and MOTU DP 5, running on
Apple Mac systems, with full OMF/AAF/MXF import and export compatibility
to and from Avid and Final Cut Pro systems. The system offers integral
synchronisation capabilities for locking sound to picture. We also have a sound-proof recording room for v/o and music recording.
CD and
DVD recording is handled by external LaCie firewire drives
and also by a HHB CDR850. Audio can also be output to our
Sony 7040 timecode DAT. We can also offer location 24/96khz
recording facilities.
Video can also be input from Beta, Beta SP, VHS & Quicktime and output on our 32" Plasma screen.
CD mastering (Redbook) is undertaken
in Peak 5, the most comprehensive mastering
software available, with full control over PQ coding and ISRC codes..
In addition to software sound editing
and manipulation tools there is a full array of vintage and
contemporary outboard equipment and microphones available
from manufacturers such as Focusrite, Pendulum Audio, Neve, Eventide,
Klark Teknik, Orban, Ashly, RCA, Microtech Gefell, Shure,
Røde, Audio Technica and many more. The monitoring system
is Genelec and Tannoy.
The studio has a wide selection of sound generation devices.
There is an extensive sound library covering everything from
contemporary dance sounds to classical music, with a wide
variety of foley/backdrop samples also available. Again, as
a result of many years programming on our part, these units
have a large custom sound library available uniquely to this
studio, in addition to more common and familiar sounds.
