November 2011 / December 2011



MEET YOUR NEIGHBOURS starts Thursday 17th November RTE One. Set in a Dublin suburb, PJ plays a host of colourful characters who make up this close-knit community. Music & audio post or this 6-part series at Waveform. Luan Parle was in the studio recording tracks for Milupa's new website. The APPRENTICE continues on TV3 and 3E till mid Dec. The 1 hr Zoo Xmas Special filmed during last years snow is on 28th RTE 1 6.30.

September / October 2011



PAPERMAN frameworks animation wins again, this time in Italy. It's been having a great tour around the world. Latest festival has been Raindance. Just finishing up work on a new 6 part comedy series airing November. THE APPRENTICE back on air for another series with the score from Waveform. THE ZOO is now screening in Belgium with an average viewing of 1.2 million! CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION has got a small UK cinema release and a DVD release so buy here.

July / August 2011



BAD FELLAS, a three part documentary series, written and narrated by Paul Williams, tells the story of some of the pivotal moments in the growth of organised crime in Ireland, returns to RTE 1 for a second screening on Thursday nights. Waveform is proud sponsor of the Tiernan McBride award for Best First Short Drama at the Galway Film Festival. Also good luck to the films we worked on PARKED, THE BUILDER and STILL EARLY.

May / June 2011



Two projects with music contributions screening in Cannes. They are the documentary CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION and the feature film PARKED starring Colm Meaney. PAPERMAN frameworks animation wins the Canadian Film Festival.

Nominations in the IFTAs this year, THE APPRENTICE, for best entertainment show. A brand new 10 part series of the ZOO starting on RTE 1 every Friday at 7.30pm, now a top ten programme in Belgium! Also music for the feature documentary CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION, which will be screening for the first time at JDIFF. Also 5 new EBS stings for the ZOO series. DRAGONS' DEN Series 3 started Sunday 20th February in a new slot at 9.30 RTE 1. Also for 4FM in association with 11890 Directory Enquiries, THE EMERGENCY .

October - December 2010

Recent work - BAD FELLAS a three part documentary series, written and narrated by Paul Williams, tells the story of some of the pivotal moments in the growth of organised crime in Ireland. Coming soon to Setanta sports PILGRIMS - The Irish at Cheltenham. Giles will be talking about collaborating with sound in film at the International Academy of Media and Arts Halle in Germany this month. OUTCAST hits UK cinemas 14th December.

Projects this year that feature in Galway from the studio are music score for feature film OUTCAST with its Irish premiere on Friday 9th July. OUTCAST had its World premiere at SXSW in Austin, Texas at the fright fest on 12th March and its European premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival 14th April.

February 2010

Wednesday 17th 7.30pm on TV3, THE ZOO, a six part series about Dublin Zoo starts. Title music and mix from the studio here as well as recording Tom Dunne's voice over. Music and mix for documentary THE OPEN ROAD looking at the work of the agency KARE for RTE. New LUCOZADE O'Gara 6 Nations ad on air. THE APPRENTICE wins an IFTA, music score from Waveform. THE DRAGONS' DEN is back for a second series of the hit show at 10.15 on Thursdays RTE ONE, all music in the series from Waveform. OUTCAST is set to premiere at SXSW in Austin, Texas ath the fright fest on 12th March.

Happy New Year! Waveform Studios has started 2010 with a bang. No less than four of the studios projects from 2009 have been nominated for Irish Film & Television Awards later this year. They are TROLLEY BOY(Best Animation), THE FORGOTTEN IRISH (Best Single Documentary), THE APPRENTICE (Best Entertainment Programme) and PAUL WILLIAMS INVESTIGATES (Best Current Affairs). Watch this space!

THE GIFT OF LIFE, a 3 part series produced by Animo Television for TV3 starts 21st January at 10pm. The series will follow the stories of 14 people from all over Ireland who are awaiting transplants.

'The Forgotten Irish', a new 2 part documentary from director Maurice Sweeney examines the decade after WWII when hundreds of thousands of men and women emigrated to Britain. Final mix is completed in Berlin on Outcast. The Apprentice is in full swing. Music completed for Francis Bacon at the Hugh Lane Gallery.

August/September 2009



Finishing up scoring debut feature Outcast, a supernatural thriller directed by Colm McCarthy (Single Handed, Spooks, The Tudors, Murphy's Law), featuring James Nesbit and Kate Dickie. On TV3, the music for the new 13 part series of the Apprentice and a two part documentary following the forgotten Irish. Teeth is voted one of the best all time Irish Film Board shorts (see look to view/listen).

Happy Birthday, Waveform Studios is 8 this month. Frameworks animation Trolley Boy by Teemu Auersalo at Galway Film Feadh 2009 and Orla Murphy's Nollaig Shona amongst three films worked on at Waveform this past year.

Monday 25th February 10pm sees the launch of our latest project on TV3. Prompted by the murder of Veronica Guerin, the Criminal Assets Bureau was set up in 1996. In an authoritative and hard-hitting 6 part documentary series, investigative journalist Paul Williams will follow the workings and history of the Bureau in DIRTY MONEY: THE STORY OF THE CRIMINAL ASSETS BUREAU. We have also just finished mixing a 6 part series called Posadh Sli Eile, which has been broadcast on TG4.
Teeth has won a 5th award, this time at the Brest Film Festival. Well done to all involved.

Congratulations to Mathew Talbot-Kelly - Blind Man's Eye is the only Irish film nominated for this year's Venice film festival. Teeth has been released by Buena Vista International in selected cinemas nationwide from 31st August. Waveform is also on the move to Merrion Row where we will have two studios.
